University of Southern California Fred S. Grodins Graduate Research Symposium The USC Andrew and Erna Viterbi School of Engineering USC

Reseach Paper Format

All participants are required to submit a two-page reseach paper.  All papers must use the Microsoft Word template and follow the formatting guidlines, both provided below.

A Microsoft Word template is provided for download.  Using this template as a guide will considerably ease the task of writing your paper. The Microsoft Word template does not use macros.  The absence of macros will give you flexibility in formatting your paper, but it is now your responsibility to ensure that the final result adheres to the guildelines below.

A comprehensive checklist of paper formatting guidelines is provided in PDF form below.  We recommend downloading and printing the guidelines and "checking off" each aspect of your papers format before submitting your paper. Research papers submitted with incorrect formatting will be returned to you for correction.

Please name your file "Lastname_Firstname_2017_Category.{doc, docx}" and submit it to the appropriate Dropbox link. Only Microsoft Word (.doc and .docx) files will be accepted.  Please limit file size to about 4MB; files over 5MB will not be accepted.  When you submit your paper you will have the chance to indicate whether you wish to be considered for a Wallace Coulter award.

Please keep in mind that anything you present at the Symposium constitutes a public disclosure. This means you should consider removing all confidential information from the presentation if you are interested in patent protection and have not yet filed a patent application.
